The reason for any church is for the salvation of souls.
Romans Road IS the pathway to salvation.

As it is written, "There is none righteous, no, not one."
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

On Thursday, January 12, 1989, a group of concerned Christians met in a home in Cartersville and made a commitment to start a Bible-believing, Bible preaching and Bible teaching Baptist Church. On Sunday, January 15, 1989, this group met for the first time officially as Faith Baptist Church, and, some weeks later, called Reverend Larry D. Foster to be their first pastor. Brother Foster is the present pastor of Faith Baptist Church.
For the first three months, they met in two different locations, having Sunday morning and Sunday evening services in one home and having Wednesday night services in another home. The church then rented a store front location on Wall Street in downtown Cartersville. They completely renovated the building by stubbing out three classrooms, one nursery, a storage room, a men's and ladies' restrooms, and a sanctuary that would seat 60-70 people.
After moving into the renovated building, the congregation voted to start a building fund. Weekly, the folks gave toward the fund. In the fall of 1991, the church purchased approximately three acres of land on Mission Road, with plans to build a church. In 1992, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Temples sold the land to the church. In 1992, the Church hired Dennis Graham as the contractor to build the building. In the summer of 1992, the congregation began their worship services there.
The church has a sanctuary that will seat 200-250 people. It also has eight large classroooms, a nursery, church office, pastor's study and sound room, baptistery, and storage rooms.

| Church Covenant | ||
|
         Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
         We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort, to promote its prosperity and spirituality: to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines, to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
         We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Saviour.
         We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Saviour to secure it without delay.
         We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
