National Birds of Prey Centre The NBPC is one of the oldest, probably the largest and certainly the best known and
respected specialist collection of birds of prey in the world. Housing approximately 300 birds of over 80 species, the Centre leads the world in the number of species bred in captivity. To date 52 species have been bred there, with new species laying eggs each year.
National Audubon Society The mission of the National Audubon Society (NAS) is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds and other wildlife for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity. Founded in 1905, the National Audubon Society is named for John James Audubon (1785-1851), famed ornithologist, explorer, and wildlife artist. The NAS has 550,000 members and 508 chapters in the Americas. In addition it has 100 Audubon Sanctuaries and nature centers nationwide, 300 full time staff including scientists, educators, sanctuary managers, regional and state directors, and government affairs specialist.
