Animal Alliance of Canada The Animal Alliance of Canada is an animal rights advocacy and education group which focuses on local, regional, national and international issues concerning the goodwill and respectful treatment of animals by humans. Animal Alliance generates volumes of information and works for
change in all facets of the Animal Rights movement including the
cosmetic product testing, endangered and protected species, and pet overpopulation (to name a few). The Bear Alliance, is working hard to end the Spring Bear Hunt in Ontario and abroad, and end trade of bear paws and gall bladders.
Arctic Institute of North America The Arctic Institute of North America was created by an Act of Parliament in 1945 as a nonprofit tax-exempt
research and educational organization. Originally based at McGill University in Montreal, the Institute moved to the University of Calgary in 1976. In 1979 the Institute became part of the University of Calgary as a university research institute.

The Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley The Biosphere Institute is a non-profit society aimed at acquiring, integrating and disseminating data and information relevant to the short-term and long-term management of the Bow River watershed. The Bow River Valley and the town of Canmore are located in the Canadian Rockies (adjacent to Banff National Park), approximately 110 km west of Calgary. The Institute has a database of about 3,000 references.

Zoocheck Canada Zoocheck Canada is a national animal protection charity established to protect wildlife in captivity and in the wild. These objectives are accomplished through: investigation and research, educational programs, lectures andforums, special events and fundraising
benefits, reports and information kits, and advocacy. As a leading voice for the rights of captive wildlife in Canada, Zoocheck has been instrumental in promoting the mandatory licensing of zoos and wildlife displays; the closure of substandard facilities; an end to the use of native and exotic wild animals in circuses, novelty acts and the pet trade; and the establishment of general standards for captive wildlife care and housing. Zoocheck also works for the protection of wild animals and the habitats in which they live, both in Canada and abroad. This is accomplished through investigative campaigns, direct advocacy and project funding.
