What You can do to Save Energy?


1) Walk or ride a bicycle for short trips.
2) Carpool or use public transportation whenever possible.
3) Keep the engine in your car tuned.
4) Take short showers instead of baths.
5) Keep the thermostat on your water heater set no more than 120 degrees F.
6) Wash only full loads of clothes or dishes.
7) Close off and do not heat or cool unused rooms or closets.
8) Use flourescent bulbs instead of incondecents ones.
9) Use natural light whenever possible.
10) Turn off unnecessary lights and appliances.
11) Buy only high-efficiency appliances.

Winter

1) Turn down the thermostat, and compensate by wearing a sweater.
2) Turn down the thermostat at night and when no one's home.
3) Caulk and weatherstrip cracks.

Summer

1) Turn up the thermostat, and compensate with fans.
2) Turn off the air conditioner when no one will be home for 4 hours.
3) Close draps on sunny days. Open them on cool days and at night.
