Images of French Quarter Wildlife
I have a garden. It's not real big. A balcony 10'w x 90' long. It's in the city. I mean, rite on top of a 24 hour store! The city happens to be historical and hysterical. It's called The French Quarter and it's in a state of mind called New Orleans in the great country of Louisiana. If you've been here, you know what I mean.
My garden is all in containers. The biggest one is probably 3 feet across. That would be one of the trees--my oldest rubber tree is 20 years old- I saved it from my mother in Buffalo, NY. (it wasn't getting enough light and warmth) My smallest plant would probably be an herb--like oregano-- in recycled shampoo bottles.
What's this got to do with PEPPERS? Well, I grow them too! They do not take up much space and they LOVE the climate here. The HOTTER the better, the more stressed out they get, the more flavorful they are!
I have hot, sweet, tangy, and musky kinds of flavors going on here. Some have crossed and blended into what I call French Quarter Spice. I will take you on a pepper tour thru my garden with photos you can send as E-cards. BTW, the background is a ristra I made from Cayennes.
note: you may click on any thumbnail to see the larger image or you may preview the entire postcard before sending.
