There are Timothy Hutton and Maria Bello co-starring in this movie, but the ones who act are Johnny Depp, silence, a lake, and a dog named Chico. But if you have ever been someone who writes for a living, Secret Window really clicks in. That is how a writer lives. Cinematically everything works here; it's perfectly-paced, wonderfully-set and those who act do so like you breathe. Depp's character, Morton Rainey, is a New Yorkian author of thriller flicks. One day, six months after leaving his wife (who's seeing someone new), and while suspending the divorce papers infinitely, Rainey wakes up to find somebody accusing him of plagiarism. This leads to several dead bodies (Chico included), a major arson, and a scare around the town. There's much going on, and there ain't any -- there has never been a movie like this in history. |
