I saw a gorgeous cloud formation this evening...like two moons coliding, merging into one, floating just within a break in the gray, forboding storm clouds...really beautiful. I was at Tim's place on campus when I saw it, with Steve and Greg--neither of them noticed it when I brought it up...ah...some events are for one alone to witness I suppose--it wasn't there long...
My new story is going well, I actually just sat down and wrote three more pages...I'm hesitant to start a paper journal for it...it's getting to the point where with a couple more pushes, it could get *long*...but I don't want to force it anywhere if it's gonna write itself short for short story...just let it go I suppose
The "thing is", I would love it to be long--I need to get myself back into a new novel after the last flop...just can't seem to find my voice on rewriting "that" one...maybe "someday" I will. I simply don't have the conviction neccessary for a long work though--not with school, *most assuridly* not once I find a job, fingers crossed now...I'll be looking for a while yet I think :(
School starts the day after tommorrow, and I'm not ready for it. I just want a few more days to gorge on books and write my story. Is that so much to ask?
My dad emailed my grades from last semester...thy're still sent to my parents address...I never saw them. I got C's in the engineering classes, an "A-" in Brit lit, and "CR" in poetry. Also got a "NC" in physical activity--I guess they'd signed me up in the soccor league even tho I'd played no games...great, hope that isn't a problem...
The RAIN has been glorious lately.
For dinner I actually surprised myself by finding a new recipe for ground beef...maybe it's just me, but I have a problem finding any other purposes for the meat to be meatloaf, hamburgers, or spaghetti. Well...1 box Rice-a-Rona (trademark goes here) brand rice product (I used Spanish Style), 2 cans of vegetables (i used corn and a mixed vegetable), 1/2 lb ground meat--brown the meat, brown the rice, throw the water, butter, rice seasonings into the skillet and cook over low heat, covered, for 25 min...add a few dashes of chilli powder or cayenne pepper...you're all set...kind of like hamburger helper--excpet this way, you know (essentially) what's in there, and it's cheap too...(and tastes better, immho)
It's a variation of the "batchelor stew" i suppose...but I don't do that often, and i doubt many ppl do the same thing again, on purpose--I see this as a viable dinner option...*yeah* a new dinner outa ground meat, I so excited (a trifle sarcastic there, K?)
But then, that's exciting right now--sad to say. Maybe you have other ground beef recipes? huh? maybe I could set up a cooking for batchelors, become world famous, and have peole set me up with kickbacks of the rich and famous...
"Saa, right, and monkees could fly outta my butt!" Wayne (Michael Myers)
(btw...always weirds me out hearing/using/acknowledging
that name--I heard of Micheal Myers the big screen serial killer first,
and always make the connection between the two...comic and a serial killer,
yeah, OK, glen, take your medicine now, please, and come back to bed...)
