CHINA - THE DAY OF THE BIG ADVENTURE (cont....)
PAGE 5
The rock walls in this picture looked really cool as we passed by. Their texture reminded me of sand castles we used to build on the beach when we were small in Romania.
The Red River.
This is the river Ed and I saw on our map, and decided to follow to Vietnam. There seemed to be a road following the river all the way from from YouanJiang to the vietnamese border, and we figured that this route is bound to be less hilly that the alternate one through the mountains.
Well, it ended up being hilly after all, and the conditions of the road were the worst we have seen on our entire trip. It was impossible to follow this route, so after much misadventure, we decided to turn back and follow the one through the mountains....
Rice fields in the mountains. I love the patterns they make...
The little specks you see at the bottom are people and water buffalo working in the fields.
