Bulma's Life.....Like It Is! And What It Once Was...... Everyone has them, no one wants them, but yet they make us so much stronger. I exited the fabulous throne room, walking at a leisury pace. I was in no hurry, things weren't the same as they had been, I had no where to be, nothing really to do. I was a free woman! I giggled soflty at my pathetic thoughts and hurried to get to my room. This dress was really binding! I pushed open the door to my room and stripped off the beautiful white silk dress, simply leaving it on the floor for a slave to clean, and changed into a dark pair of short shorts and a red hoodie with "Roxy" across the back. Earth clothes that I still had. Much more comfortable than the skimpy, binding Saiyan attire. I pulled back my hair into a high, casual ponytail and went off in search of something, anything, to do. I ran down to the greenhouse and threw open the doors anxiously. I loved this place, and had missed it in the month or so I had been gone. It was really scary how I really thought of Vegetasei as the closest thing to home I had! I sighed and breathed in the fake 'fresh air'. Here, it was good enough! I smiled and sat down under my favorite tree, only to see that the tree was previously occupied. Vegeta dropped some leaves down on my head, and I cried out and stretched my head back to see him. He was smirking and ripping leaves off the brances viciously, a habit he had had since childhood that I had always hated. I don't think that I really cared much anymore, the trees were barely real! "Hey Monkey-brains," I said, and looked back at the river I had been. "Hey weakling," He answered, without missing a beat, and I rolled my eyes. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "Don't you have some 'kingly' duties to do now that you are back?" He smirked. "Well, yes...but who has to know?" He said, and continued picking at the branches. I shook my head and wrapped my arms around my knees. "I know, I don't worry, I will tell *everyone* who cares!" I felt something heavier hit my head and I cried out loudly. I looked to see what the baka had dropped and me and saw a small apple on the ground, not big enough to do any damage, but still to wake someone up. I growled and glared up in the tree, where Vegeta was floating next to a branch, in a laying position. How did he do that?? I had often found myself asking. "What was *that* for?" I asked, my voice slightly angry. No one liked having fruit dropped on their heads! "I don't know, it is just really amusing to see you whine and cry," Vegeta shot back, and floated to the ground slowly. "Not only that, it helps with my control over my power. We wouldn't want your little head to get all smashed up, now would we?" I didn't miss the sarcastic tone. "Well, at least not *you*, I hope," I said, and crossed my arms. "*That* would just break my heart." He scowled and walked up to the river. "I have to tell you something, woman, so shut up and listen until I am through." This woke me up, and I leaned against the tree, waiting for his explaination. "Earth is too valuable a planet to simply hold off till tomorrow. But I don't have the prior knowledge of human cultures and weapons and such to pull such a take-over off. But on the other hand, *you* do," He started. "So I must have some of your knowledge of Earth in this. But it wouldn't be very smart to send you along with the ships, as the warriors are not mature enough to keep their hands to themselves." I snorted disdainfully at this, and Vegeta looked at me. "Sorry," I said. "*So*, somehow, I must aquire the stuff needed to do this now, and store it somehow. Unfortunatly, not even a scientist's brain can hold all of that information together like that," He said, and that was my cue to clue him in on my opinions. Usually, our knowledge of problem-solving greatly differed, my being party raised on Earth. "I think that you should type it into a computer, or record it on tape, or maybe even take notes, but, as you have already said, all of that will not be accesible when on Earth, or at least not most of the time," I said this slowly, as if I was just thinking of it myself. The best way to do these things was slowly, something Vegeta never did. "So I guess really the only way is either to take me with you, or...well, I don't know. It appears that you only have one option, your Majesty," I said, a hint of sarcasm at the words 'your Majesty'. Vegeta frowned. "I was hoping to get around that option. Is there really no other way?" I shook my head. No, there wasn't. Maybe, just *maybe*, if I had time to think it over, I could figure something out, but not anything easy, that's for sure. "Give me time to think it over, and maybe there *is* a way," I said, and tried to give him what I thought was a convincing look. "Well I can give you 24 hours, we are leaving this time tomorrow," He said, and smirked. "I told you I needed help desperatly, or why the hell would I ask you?" My jaw dropped. "I am *so* coming with you!" I said, and put my hands on my hips. "Well, *I* am not going, why waste the efforts when you have good men to do it for you?" He said, and smirked. "I can't believe that you would even *want* to go! Frieza the Ass is still there." I nodded and winked. "But then I can beat him down again!" I said, and cringed at my pink fingernails. I planned to paint them, but had never gotten around to it. "Sure, yeah. What happened to you was good luck and excellant timing." "I am *so* convinced that you could do it with less effort!" He lifted his chin, going into arrogant-asshole mode, and I did so also. I was always on my guard when he was. I figured out his reason soon enough. One of the royal advisors was striding towards us, a scowl on his deeply tanned face. Vegeta gave him a I-am-not-happy-with-you look and crossed his arms. "Your Majesty, Lady," The advisor said, and bowed respectively. "I have the most shocking news, your Highness." Vegeta nodded, a twinkle of interest in his obsidian eyes. He said nothing but waited for the advisor to gather his breath-or courage. It wasn't unknown for Vegeta to loose his temper, even with me. "It has been reported that Frieza has left for Nambeisei, Your Majesty," He said, and his voice was happy. "He has left for some amount of time, judging by what the warriors saw." "Nani?!" I said, and the advisor nodded, not sure what to think of me. I was used to it. "Vegeta-that means that the problem is solved! There is no Frieza to hold you back. I think it is a better idea if you accompany them," I said, and Vegeta thought about this then shook his head. "You are dismissed, advisor Pelanae. I wish to have a court tonight," Vegeta ordered, and Pelanae scampered off, to spread the word probably. I smiled in triumph and Vegeta stared at me. "Why are you so happy?" He asked. "Frieza is gone, why wouldn't I be?" I said happily, and leaned against the tree again. "Aren't you?" Vegeta rolled his eyes and uncrossed his arms. "I have chosen for the court to be held to celebrate our basic victory over Frieza and Earth, show up," He said, and disappeared, teleporting to who knows where. I nodded and sat down near the river again, staring at my reflection. Things were definitly going to be different in my life now, for the better at last. I closed my eyes peacefully and breathed in the closest thing to fresh air I had available. ~*~ Ahhh Bulma is happy!! How totally kawaii, right??
