Bulma's Life.....Like It Is! And What It Once Was......
Chapter 50: Friendship

She remembered what it was like to have friends and support, even if it only was one person....a person who felt the same way as she did.....

I woke up to birds singing their joy at the end of a long rain. The sky was clear and blue, and the air smelled fresh and sweet....and like bacon. My stomach rumbled and I sat up, rubbing my eyes. I was *hungry*!

I put on a pair of faded short shorts and a light blue tee-shirt and pulled my hair up into a ponytail. I raced out of my room into the kitched, where Chichi was just finishing breakfast. I obviously had to get up earlier to make it to help.

Chichi smiled at me civilly. "They are still asleep, but you can be assured that they will be out soon, as soon as they smell food!"

I giggled and helped her set everything on the table. Soon enough, Goku and Yamcha raced down the stairs to eat. They devoured almost everything, and got up to go spar.

Chichi let them go, telling them to be careful of the Saiyans, and I wondered if they had done anything about my disappearnce yet. I betted that they had, I was a vital part of their plans. I shuddered and Chichi noticed.

"What's the matter?" She asked. "The Saiyans are up to something big, aren't they?"

I nodded and hugged myself. "Yes, and I am a nessacery assest to their plans. I don't want to help, my birthday is tomorrow and I hate their plan!"

Chichi's face radiated concern and wonder, but she didn't question, just wiped the table down and thought. She didn't know much about Saiyans, was the impression I got. I looked out the window and saw Goku and Yamcha talking, resting under a large tree. I got up and walked out to them.

"Hey, Bulma-chan," Goku said casually, and Yamcha's face got red and he mumbled something. I knew that he had a crush on me, and I smiled at him reassuringly.

"Hi, to both of you. Have you heard the Saiyans yet?" I asked, and they both shook their heads.

"Well, I can sense that they are about a mile and a half away, but none of them are doing much. I can especially sense Vegeta's ki, he is strong. But he is sticking to one area," Goku said, and Yamcha nodded.

"Good, that means that they aren't looking for me yet!" I breathed a sigh of relief and laughed as they both gave me confused looks. I explained the whole ordeal to them, and Yamcha began to look very scared, but Goku looked wistful.

"I guessed about this, lets go inside and rest a little before we go to see what they are doing," He said, and got up.

"We can't! Vegeta can sense ki, and the other's have scouters!" I protested, but Goku just smiled and winked.

"Don't worry about it, I know how to hide my ki, and I can just go alone," He said, and entered the house. I sighed, giving in, and Yamcha followed.

Chichi didn't like the idea as much as I didn't.

"The Saiyans are dangerous, and only Bulma knows enough about them to really know whether it is safe to go or not," She said, hands on hips. "Besides, who can tell what they will do?"

"Aw, Chichi, I *am* a Saiyan!" Goku said, and smiled. He wasn't about to give in, I could see that.

"Goku, if you go and get caught-well...you don't know Vegeta. He wouldn't hesitate to kill you for no reason at all," I said, and sighed. "Besides, there is nothing we can do until their plans are underway."

Yamcha, Chichi, and I stood in a scared silence, letting the irony of my words sink in. It was true, there were too many of them to possibly help at all, no matter what. A tear went down Chichi's cheek as she grasped it, and Yamcha looked down. Goku even looked sorrowful. I was the only one who wasn't looking about to cry here. I had slept many lonely nights thinking and crying about it, I was cried out.

"I know that, but I have to try to find something out!" He said, and backed up to the door. "Please, all of you, I know. But what else can we do?" He asked, and stepped outside and flew off.

Chichi let the tears fall, she was worried about everything. I felt my own blue eyes go downcast, and I hugged Chichi, I knew how she felt, I knew it all too well.

Yamcha went upstairs to his room, to sulk or cry, I didn't know. I closed my eyes and wished that i could sense ki just like Vegeta or Goku, so I could tell whether he was all right.

Chichi and I sat outside, under the large apple tree, that had just burst into an array of pink blossoms. Goku had been gone for an hour now, and Chichi was visually stressed. I prayed that he would come back soon, for her sake.

I heard something from above us, and looked up. My jaw dropped and I stood up. A group of about twenty Saiyans flew rapidly above us, heading for the city. Chichi looked up and let out a startled cry. I heard someone else coming, and nearly fell over when I saw Vegeta fly over, a tail of blue light behind him. I covered Chichi's mouth until he was past, and well away.

"Oh dear Kami..." I breathed. "It is starting."
