Anybody see the Three Amigos last Friday night? My gawd that's a good movie.
That is all.
Rating: RATE!
Challenge: Find a movie released post 1999 that brings together three world famous comics. Note 1: as ludicrous as Drew, Lucy and Cameron are, they are not comics, so Charlie's Angels doesn't count. Note 2: Voice overs in cartoons also don't count, since nobody's ever even in the same room.
...Think time...
If you answered anything, you're wrong! Cause these days all you've got is either:
a) Action buddy comedy movies with a black rapper/comedian teaming up with some gun toting honky (or Jackie Chan) to go around blow shit up and make wise cracks about honkys or black dudes....I have to make sure I take a good dose of salt tablets before heading into the theatre to see these movies in order to stave off the fit laughter induced cramps.
b) A standard billion dollar salaried comedy super-mega-headline-pulling star doing the same shit that he did in every other freaking movie he's ever been in. To make things simpler Jim Carrey should star in movies such as "Jim Carrey IV: The Return of Jim", "Jim Carrey V: More Jim Than You Can Poke a Stick At"......"Jim Carrey IX: The Return of Jim" (a remake of "Jim Carrey IV" of course). Whilst Adam Sandler should make movies like "Adam Sandler's dopey character in a situation!", "Adam Sandler's dopey character in another situation!", etc etc etc.
What movie am I apparently reviewing again? That's right, The Three Amigos. This movie should make me laugh like aunty midge after a couple of shandies (that's a lot of laughing let me tell you), cause it's that funny. But thanks to Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, and yes even the much revered Rob Schnieder, they don't make stupid shit like this anymore, so watching the Three Amigos is just plain depressing.
Now if I ask "in the know" people advise on what quality comedy I can go see, they tell me to see movies by freaking Todd Solondz or Terry Zwigoff....note to all you tosser indie wannabes: these movies aren't farking funny, they're depressing......though still not as much as The Three Amigos...aaah the irony.
