H.P.K.:

I just wrote a couple of paragraphs rambling on about Lolita (the Stan Kubrick version - me and Stan go way back apparently). It was dull and cr@p (the paragraphs not the movie). Instead I'm going to champion the cause of censorship.

For mine, censorship should be rife amongst the movie world (I don't care about any other art or media forms, they can do what they like). The censors should start buying up clydesdales, elephants, whales and giraffes, inbreed them, then jump right on top of whatever crazed equine-like spawn they produce. On top of this massively high horse they should then be able to stop all gratuitous sox scenes, ban all violence, and bleep out all swear words. Quite frankly, I'm happy to give them free reign over what I should and shouldn't watch.

Why would a man so in love with Taxi Driver, Kill Bill and something else that I cant think of right now.....umm Eyes Wide Shut, there ya go I thought that was good....anyway why do I want more censorship? Cause then it'll force movies to have some freakin character dammit! That's all they need. As much as this may throw the 14 year old boy population into fits of activism and hence cause various amounts of social unrest, b00bies are not the answer to the question of how to make a good movie! Character, on the other hand is. That's all you need I tell you. For the good of movies everywhere, huzzah censorship!

End of review.

Lolita = RATE!

BTW I do see the hypocrisy of saying huzzah censorship when Lolita was embroiled in censorship related controversy upon its release. If I'm willing to ignore this, so should you be.

Also in the news. Legally Blonde - RATE! Another movie with character. Character and girl power at that.....I'm off to watch Powerpuff Girls re-runs.
