1. Photographs of the Drouin Family Home taken at Pin-la-Garenne in July 1982
2. Robert (Le Canadian) was born here. It is now owned by the same family that bought it from the last Drouin in 1890. Left is front of the house, at right is the back.
3. For a more recent picture (likely 1999), of the upgraded
home of Robert, courtesy of Michel Ganivet of Pin la Garenne, see the home
page of Pin la Garenne.

Robert Drouin's home
at Riviere-aux-Chiens
Above is a photograph of Robert Drouin's home at Riviere-aux-Chiens
(Chateau Richer). Here, he developed his farm, left and came back
to eventually settle there until his death. The house may have changed
somehow, but the land and emplacement are where he originally settled.
It is situated between St Anne de Beaupre and Chateau Richer, west, just
past Riviere-aux-chiens.

build on the Island of Orleans. Built under the French
Regime
Why visit it?
This authentic house has never been modernised : no running water as well as no structural changes to the floors or walls, ankles of wood and forged nails are a few signs of its old age
Former Drouin home at 4419 Chemin Royal, Island of Orleans
The above house is located behind a present more modern home at the
above address. It was for a while run as a restaurant by the owner,
however the location as now been resold, with the original building's fate,
undecided. The home is believe to be at the orginal emplacement of
the Drouin's land on the Island i.e. either Nicolas or his Pierre.
Research is still going on with this. (21 July 2000).
