Ariau Towers is a two hour boat trip up river from Manaus. The boat ride is very enjoyable. the adults sat back and enjoyed the sun and sights. The kids kept busy looking for the pink dolphins and eatting snacks. |
As we approached Ariau Towers it was quite impressive to see amongest all the trees and birds flying this hotel. The hotel has several towers. All the towers are connected by wooden plank walkways. Each tower has several floors with rooms. Upon arrival we received a map of all the possible walkways that can be explored. The hotel is organized with many tour guides. We were told who are guide would be during our entire stay at the hotel. Each day three excursions were planned. It is up to the individual/guest to chose what they would like to do. During our flur days there we were able to do all of the excursions. |
Our first afternoon at the hotel we explored the different walkways. The following days we went with the guide on the different excursions scheduled. These were; an alligator search, visit to a native village, fishing with pirahnas, a nature walk through the Amazon forest, swimming in the river, and viewing the sunrise from the middle of the river. |
Our stay there was wonderful. Even with our daughters run in with the monkeys that frequent the hotel. She ended up with a few scars on her hand and a tetenus shot and a round of rabi shots. Our last morning at the hotel we were able to see on one of the screen doors a tarantula spider the size of my hand. The stay at the hotel included all meals, served buffet style. We were assigned to sit as a group according to whom you have as a tour guide. We met many people from different places. This hotel offers so much and we will always remember all the new things we saw and learned during our stay at Ariau Towers. |
