The engine is the power for your plane. Most people start out with a .40ci glow fuel engine and this would be what I recommend.

I would buy anew engine with ball bearings. Most of the popular engine work pretty well. Stay away from the cheapest engines.

Personally, I have had a great experience with O.S. engines.

OS have good power, are very reliable and easy to start.

My best advice would be to follow your manufacturer's instructions regarding breaking-in and normal operation. The break-in period allows the parts to get fit to each other and if done properly will result in an engine that will last many years. It usually consists of running at a very rich setting with periods of warming and cooling.

Four strokes require more expertise, use a two stroke to start.
