ABOUT ME I was born and raised in Iowa and haven't managed to escape yet. I have lived in Marshalltown, LaPorte City, Ames, Sioux City and I currently live in Des Moines. I work at the Science Center of Iowa as a Science Theatre Actor and occasionally work in Guest Services running the front desk or working at the gift shop. I present demos, pocket science and live planetarium shows. I am also trained to run the planetarium. While in Sioux City, I was employed as a Creative Services Producer with KTIV from November until the beginning of April, but because of budget reasons, they couldn't keep my position. I also worked at the LAMB School of Theatre and Music. I loved teaching my classes, especially high school improv. I have two awesome brothers. My older brother, Jeremy, is in Ames attending Iowa State University. He is an amazing guitar player and one helluva singer. He's in a band, I think it's still called S.O.S. but I could be wrong. He lives in a house with the three other guys in the band. Hi Tony. Hi Jon. Hi Sam. Jeremy has been and will always be one of my best friends. My younger brother, Ben, is living in LaPorte City. He is a senior in high school this year. He's involved in choir, band, speech, drama and goofing around. He is an incredible performer and has earned recognition at the All-State level. I am really proud of him. To quote him (from an excellent biography he wrote for Robedawg a few years ago) "Even though there is a big age difference and quite a few miles between us it doesn't bring us apart at all." I am fortunate to be so close with my brothers. I am lucky to have a mom that is so supportive of everything I do. My mom, Diane, has encouraged all of us to do whatever we want in our lives and helps us achieve our dreams. She means the world to me and I thank her for all that she has given me. I managed to graduate from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts with an emphasis in acting/directing. I had the best job on campus working at the Maintenance Shop and the Dog Wagon. My co-workers were the most amazing people and I learned so much from them. I was also involved with ISUtv, the campus television station. I liked the people and courses so much that I adopted Journalism (EMS) as my surrogate major. |
