"Once More With Feeling: Singles, 1996 – 2004", will be released on 25th October [UK release date], and will contain [in chronological order] all the bands' singles to date, including "Protégé Moi", previously only available in France. Since forming in 1994, Placebo have had eight Top 20 singles and sold one million albums in the UK alone, and 5 million worldwide. Continuing with their strong work ethic, the band recently entered the studio and recorded two new songs to accompany the "Once More With Feeling: Singles, 1996-2004" compilation; "I Do" and forthcoming single, "20 Years". Both these songs show a further maturity and growth in the bands' song writing abilities. "I Do" [influenced by Neu! and Laurie Anderson] is Placebo's first happy, unashamed love song. "I've been threatening to do it for years and we've finally done it", says Brian. The second, "20 Years", is more in keeping with the bands' existential angst. According to Brian, it's "pure epic melancholy, a rumination on the passing of time and mortality .. but it's not miserable¡"

"Once More With Feeling" will be available on CD [CDFLOOR23] and DVD [DVDFLOOR23]. The DVD will feature previously unseen footage and include a recent interview with the band filmed specifically to mark the occasion of the album’s release. It will be preceded on 18 October by the single "20 Years"

The collection will bring together all the singles the band has released over the past eight years from their four albums to date: Placebo, Without You I'm Nothing, Black Market Music and Sleeping With Ghosts. Jammers .. you're gonna luRRv this¡ =) News from 10C has it that Pearl Jam will be releasing it's first ever, full length acoustic performance - "Live At Benaroya Hall October 22nd 2003"¡ Says Kelly Curtis, "This was one of those special shows, but because it was not part of the 2003 tour bootleg series and fans were asking for it, and because of the unique nature of the performance itself – it being the band's first full length acoustic show - it felt like a show we should give fans the chance to own." The Benaroya Hall show was a benefit for YouthCare, which is a non profit organization providing a range of comprehensive services for Seattle's homeless, and at-risk youth for the past 30 years. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the cd will also benefit YouthCare. For more information on YouthCare, please visit: youthcare.org.
This 2 disc cd is set for release in retail July 27th from RCA/BMG Records.
