BITS n PIECES:
| Matt Cameron is Pearl Jam's fourth drummer. Previous drummers before him were, Dave Krusen, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons [who unfortunately left Pearl Jam because of personal health reasons] Matt began drumming at the age of 9ˇ Publishing name "Walpurgis Night Music". Was a member of TEMPLE OF THE DOG. Was the original drummer on the Stone Gossard demos [or better known as The Gossman Project]. Also has a jazz side-band called TONE DOGS and having said that, he's an accomplished drummer in rock and jazzˇ =) perty groovy. Could say that his musical career started on a vocal part for a song on the soundtrack for, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES. The song being "Puberty Love". Moved to Seattle in the early '80s, played in a band called FEEDBACK, before joining SKIN YARD in '85. Cameron left the band before the release of their first album. '86 saw Cameron replace Scott Sundquist as the drummer in SOUNDGARDEN. Wasn't until '97 that the band announced their breakup. Matt joined PEARL JAM on a temporary basis, finishing their US tour with them when Jack Iron's could no longer continue [the release of Pearl Jam's "Live on Two Legs" album was released as a result of the tour]. During that time he also recorded and released WELLWATER CONSPIRACY's album "Brotherhood of Electric: Operational Directive[s]" Made his debut in the studio with Pearl Jam on their "Binaural" album NOTE: pic from tenclub.net in the ::tour section:: |
