Hiya!

As some of you might know, I went to the May Ball at Chalfont at the weekend - the one where Redhill were playing.

They were supposed to be on at 12.30am but for some reason it got changed! So, having wandered around on stage for a while, checking sound and stuff, they had to go off again and Mystique came on in their place! But thankfully, Redhill came on after them.

To begin with, not a lot of people were there to watch them, but they really got the crowd going and more people came in to see them. Myself and Lindsey were really enjoying it. The music is just the kind of thing I like and the energy they all had was passed on to the crowd. Admittedly, they were all trolleyed, but so were most of us! Shane was actually wandering around the stage with a bottle of Bud and I shouted up to him to give me a bit and surprisingly enough, he passed me the bottle! There was about a mouthful left in it, so I polished that off and handed it back! I did offer him some of my drink later! I'm nice like that!

If I remember rightly, they started with Don't Rush The Stage and they also did Drive, What's the Crack?, a sort of freestyle thing (which Naomi did a bit on - and Shane was making out like he didn't know her. Funny to those in the know! A guy in the crowd joined in on Ben's mike at one point and he impressed them all, but they did have to tell him to shut up! ha ha!), Bubblin' in Dublin and a track that I think was called Drowning. They finished by performing the single version of Don't Rush The Stage which Ben
said would be out at the end of the year. It's been remixed by someone and it sounds quite good.

Shane's new tattoos are nice! I think he still managed to have more than their bass guitarist, but a bit less colourful! And Shane kept his top on (shame!) whereas said guitarist didn't!

I managed to finish off an entire film taking pics of them all - and I'm getting them done today so should be able to email some this afternoon. (See pics page) Also did a hell of a lot of shouting and consequently have lost my voice!

From their performance, I still can't believe they've not been signed up because they are excellent and it is the kind of music that's selling really well at the moment. I think if people bothered to ignore the fact that
Shane used to be in Boyzone and just listened to the music, then everything would be cool. But as we well know, the industry doesn't work like that! And neither, unfortunately, do the record buying public.

Anyway - here's to Redhill! Well done on a great performance! Real showmen in the making!
