Y-----$ | .719 |
15-3 |
119-43 |
1 |
The Sox are not the only team with bullpen problems - Y----- relievers have an ERA of 5.35, and the 6 Million Dollar Man (Contreras) has just been demoted.
2 |
Royals | .609 |
14-3 |
104-58 |
2 |
Who would have thought that after losing Paul Byrd to free-agency, the Royals staff would be able to put up a 3.01 team ERA?
3 |
Red Sox | .607 |
13-5 |
100-62 |
6 |
With the exception of Mendoza, Sox relievers allowed no runs during the past week.
4 |
A's | .583 |
10-9 |
92-70 |
4 |
Are the A's this year's version of the 2002 Red Sox? They are 2-4 in one-run games and should be two wins better based on their run differential.
5 |
White Sox | .575 |
11-7 |
94-68 |
7 |
The White Sox should really consider stopping their "Half Price for Hoodlums" promotion.
6 |
Mariners | .561 |
11-8 |
91-71 |
8 |
The M's rise to the top in the AL West, but they've really got to be concerned about Kaz Sasaki, who has an ERA of 6.48 and 3 blown saves (and nearly a fourth).
7 |
Angels | .530 |
9-10 |
83-79 |
3 |
Not a good week for the defending champs, and things don't look any brighter on the horizon with the Y-----$ and Red Sox coming to town.
8 |
Twins | .498 |
9-9 |
81-81 |
5 |
The Twins strange season continues with the "Win 3 or Lose 3 in a Row" pattern.
9 |
Orioles | .493 |
8-9 |
85-77 |
12 |
Is this the year that the O's finally break through the Blue Jays' hold on third in the AL East?
10 |
Indians | .425 |
6-12 |
69-93 |
9 |
Could this be the year that Jake Westbrook finally fulfills his promise? He's got a 0.73 ERA so far, but no wins to show for it yet.
11 |
Rangers | .415 |
8-11 |
65-97 |

Blue Jays | .415 |
6-13 |
64-98 |
10 |
The Jays finally get a break after starting the year against the Sox, Y-----$ and Twins. Up next - the Devil Rays.
13 |
Devil Rays | .392 |
6-12 |
60-102 |
11 |
The DRays are beginning to revert to form, unable to stand the pressure of rising to the .500 mark.
14 |
Tigers | .229 |
1-16 |
31-131 |
14 |
The Tigers stand at 1-16 - which is about how frequently their batters are able to get a hit. |
Teams are rated on three factors: average runs scored, average runs allowed, and winning percentage. Each of these is weighted by the team's strength of schedule, which is determined from the opponent's average winning percentage and their opponent's average winning percentage. The combination of the three weighted factors produces an overall rating. |
