"I think they need to worry about more things than a beanball war the way they're playing." - Steve Karsay. Apparently, Estes, Piazza and Mo heard you, Steve.

3

Mariners

.648

41-27

3

Hey Lou Pinella, do you know where your players are? Eugene Kingsale gets waived by the M's and picked up by the Pads. Lou doesn't find out until he sees Kingsale on the Pads' bench.

4

Angels

.609

39-27

4

Angels blow a chance to take over first place. Will the M's give them another chance?

5

A's

.534

37-31

7

A's demolishing NL opponents (8-1) - too bad they have to go back to playing AL West teams.

6

Twins

.509

39-30

5

It figures - the Twins, with the easiest schedule in the league, get to play the Brewers twice in interleague play.

7

White Sox

.502

34-35

6

Awww - the Big Hurt got his feelings hurt when Manuel played Konerko instead of him at first at Wrigley. Hey Frank, get a clue! You're a DH!

8

Orioles

.495

32-35

8

O's have the magic touch with pitchers this year, as they throw a 30 year old minor league free agent into the rotation, and get a 4-0 record.

9

Blue Jays

.417

27-39

9

Power outage in Canada: Blue Jays averaging only 3.4 runs scored in last 8 games.

10

Indians

.414

34-35

10

Indians, desperate for more starters, hire researchers to try to clone Colon.

11

Rangers

.406

27-40

11

Two more Rangers players join the ranks of those hitting better than Carl, pitchers Dave Burba (.500) and Kenny Rogers (1.000, with a BB and a SB.)

12

Royals

.351

25-41

12

Was there a worse offseason acquisition than Chuck Knoblauch (.167/.241/.253)?

13

Devil Rays

.341

23-44

13

How's this - the Devil Rays and Marlins play the "I Quit" Series. Loser gets contracted.

14

Tigers

.303

24-43

14

3-3 this week, including a defeat of Curt Schilling. Not bad (for a change).
