Yet another low pressure September, allowing Joe Torre to rest his starters and give valuable time to guys like Juan Rivera and Nick Johnson.

3

A's

.637

93-56

100-62

Since their winning streak, this team is starting to show some cracks - namely, a suspect bullpen and a lack of offense.

The Sox are choking on Angel dust.

They coulda been contenders, instead of bums - which is what they are.

The Texas Rangers: the best last-place team money can buy!

Major announcement! The Indians, who recalled Coco Crisp from AAA last week, are now calling up Captain Crunch and Count Chocula.

12

Royals

KC's upcoming free agents are "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" - namely, Paul Byrd, Roberto Hernandez, and Chuck Knoblauch.

13

Tigers

.329

53-96

57-105

13

Carlos Pena apparently caught word of my Tigers' OPS stat (no regulars over .800) and has responded - he's up to .806 and is starting to show some of that early-season promise.

14

Devil Rays

.329

49-100

52-110

14

Another 100 loss season for the D'Rays. But hey, at least you know what to expect from this team!

Teams are rated on three factors: average runs scored, average runs allowed, and winning percentage. Each of these is weighted by the team's strength of schedule, which is determined from the opponent's average winning percentage and their opponent's average winning percentage. The combination of the three weighted factors produces an overall rating.
