Just a little bump

  • OK, I'm back today for a short update, the bare minimum. Sorry about yesterday, but like I said earlier, I'm on a mini vacation in Baltimore and my time is being spent elsewhere. Anyway, to the game...

To start, I think I'm glad I missed yesterday's update, i'd have had nothing nice to say anyway. Ugh! Bad game.

But Saturday, that was a nice score to come home to after a day in the city. I thought it was especially huge due to the fact that we lost on Friday night and then bounced right back. After the loss on Friday I felt a little cloud start to form. Like, uh oh, this could start a downward spiral. But no, this team is resilient, and Frank Castillo is doing a very nice job of erasing the doubts I have about him.

Having not seen the game I can't really comment much except to add that She Hillenbrand has now hit in every one of his major league games. Oh, wait, except for the one I was at! Sheesh!

It's going to be interesting to see what the roster decision is going to be when Stynes finishes his short weekend rehab stint. Though it was mentioned again today that the Sox are talking with the A's about Dante Bichette. If this is serious I think Stynes may be held out in the cold for a couple of days so the roster spot can open with the departure of Bichette.

Again, IF this happens, I'm curious to see how much of the salary the Sox are going to have to cover and I also hope they don't give him away. Doubtful we'll get anyone that will be placed on the Major League roster, but a mid-high lever prospect would be nice.

Another huge one today with Tomo Ohka to take the hill for the Sox. Not sure whoes up for NY as I believe El Puke is skipping this start, so I guess we'll have to see. Nonetheless this is a biggy for Ohka. Another test to see what he's made of, if he can go 5-6 solid i'll be happy to hand it over to the pen from there.
