Biten by the solo job

  • Timing, Timing, Timing. That's what it's all about most of the time in this game. Had we hit homers the two times we had the bases loaded and failed to score, instead of a couple of solo shots, I'd be here praising the bats for making up for the complete horrid pitching we saw yesterday. But alas, there are always going to be games like these.

Actually I didn't see any of the game so I have no idea if the Chi-Sox got a little lucky, benefited from another bad call, or if we actually pitched as bad as the boxscore portrays. Unfortunately I'm leaning toward the latter on that list, you don't score 13 runs by luck and bad calls alone.

I hope we're not coming to a close of the Wakefield magic, hopefully this is just a lull, but this makes 3 straight starts where he's been less than spectacular.

Guess what? Pete Schourek still sucks, big surprise.

Without seeing the game it's hard to comment only using the boxscore, but how much good, if any, could there have been when you give up 13 runs as a staff. I'll cut my losses and stop here.

  • 5-6 for the 11 game trip, not exactly what we wanted, but at the end of it we're still only one game back. This could have been a very bad trip and even though it ended under .500, for and 11 game trip we didn't come out all bad.

Now we're home for the next 13 against Toronto (3), Chicago (3), Anaheim (3) and Texas (4). Time to take advantage of the home crowd and get a nice run going. No worse than 8-5 is what I'm setting the bar at, and there's no reason we can't reach it. Also, by the time this home stand is finished, chances are we'll see both Everett and the prodigal son himself, Nomah, back in the line-up.
