  • Antone else stay up for that thing last night? UGH! Should have never happened. Don't get me wrong, I'm psyched about the win, but the game went an extra eight innings and shouldn't have. Put aside the fact that the offense was pitiful last night and that we went 0-10 with runners in scoring position. If not for the umpire, the game would have been over in the 10th and we also would have had our first pinch-hit of the season.

At first I was saying to my self, the first baseman was blocking his (the umps) view, it was a tough call. But then when I thought about it, two things bothered me allot. 1) What the heck was stopping the ump from taking two steps to the right or left to get an angle on the ball? He did not get himself into position to make the correct call and almost cost the Sox the game. 2) Where was the 2nd base ump? He can give help on that. Oh wait I forgot, umps don't ask for help, good job guys.

We may have won the game, but the repercussions of the extra eight innings are going to be felt the next couple of days when we need someone out of the pen. The relief crew was already depleted as it was, but they went out there and threw 11 scoreless innings. 11! The player of the game last night was the Sox pen, and nobody else.

I'm not going to dulge further into the specifics of the game, most of it would be talking about all the 0-fers and missed opportunities.

    Four intentional walks for Manny... R E S P E C T !

Frank Castillo needs to come up big tonight with a good 6-7 innings or we could be in trouble. There was talk that the Sox may make a roster move for just a coupe of days so they can get a fresh arm in the pen to give the other guys a rest. I wouldn't be surprised to see Merloni get demoted once again and have the Sox go with 12 pitchers for a few days. Mike Lansing could also be placed on the DL as an option as well. I guess we'll see.
