Trade Pedro!

  • Atleast then we can't be accused of wasting his career.

Warning: This update is not going to be kind, so if you don't want to hear gloom and doom, stop reading now.

With the team we have right now, we CANNOT win. This team has turned into exactly what they were last year, one or two guys carrying the offense and the rest just sucking it up. I know we have Nomar coming back after the ASB, but do you think he's going to be able to just pick up a bat and hit .370 like last year? Besides, the ineptness of our offense is going to land us 15 games back by the time Nomar is healthy anyway.

Oh, and I don't want to hear, "it was Mussina who shut us down". WHO CARES!!!!! The Y-----s found a way to beat the greatest pitcher on the planet (fives time in a row now), Mussina might be the 3rd or 4th (might be). In Pedro's last 5 game vs NY his wonderful teammates have score a total of 7 RUNS!

For the first time ever I found myself actually agreeing with the hosts of the BIG SHOW (WEEI) yesterday. Outside of Manny, THIS TEAM CANNOT HIT! Oh they'll tease us some more, go on a short run, but then, back in the tank they go.

I'm sorry, I know its still only May, allot of baseball yet to be played. But explain to me why it's going to be different this year? It's the same team, except add Manny and delete Nomar.

Something needs to be done and I don't mean grabbing some piece of you know what off the scrap heap. A major shake-up needs to occur. Oh and I've finally decided if I like Jimy or not as the manager. I do. It's his players that have been screwing everything up for the last two seasons.

Mike Lansing and Craig Grebeck: (I know they didn't play yesterday) Should not be on this team. PERIOD! I would much rather take a chance on a high school player than either of those guys. Grebeck has done absolutely NOTHING for this team and Lansing helped us win ONE game last year.

Trot Nixon: I'm sick of waiting for him to turn into this 'solid' player everyone has been predicting for the last four years. Yeah the D is pretty good but he jury is out, he's not a good hitter.

Troy O'Leary and Dante Bichette: Their ship has sailed. Bichette hasn't got one meaningful hit yet this year. NOT ONE! O'Leary, I love you for 1999, but since, you have been garbage. Yeah you had a nice recovery in the 2nd half of last year from the 'personal problems' but what's the excuse for the first two months of this season?

Shea Hillenbrand: Still not having very good at bats. He's getting the hit here and there, but twice yesterday he had hitters counts and twice he swung at bad pitches.

Jose Offerman: Will this guy ever learn to turn the DP? EVER?

Carl Everett: Pulling a Hillenbrand right now. Getting one meaningless hit per game.

If Pedro doesn't reach 300 wins in his career people are going to look back and see all the great starts that this team wasted. Completely wasted. It's really a shame.

I'm putting it all on the table right now, here's what I want to see happen but won't, and I care not about the $$ aspect of it.

Cut Grebeck, cut Lansing, cut O'Leary, and cut Bichette. We get rid of the two worst players on the team and two of the biggest whiners. Make Offy or Daubach the DH and put Merloni at 2B until Stynes is able to come back. Manny can play the outfield. Bring up Stenson or Izzy (hurt right now) and platoon with Nixon. Bring up Burkhardt and see if he can draw a walk or two in the #2 slot. Defense is a moot point if you can't score. Darren Lewis only plays when we need a bunt or a late defensive replacement. There's more but I'm too worked up to write it.

Am I overreacting? Yeah, so what? I think I (and all of RSN) have a right to. I'm sick of it! Hey DD, see if Oakland is willing to part with Giambi now, the only thing that will keep us afloat until Nomar gets back is The Freak and someone to help him out.

Sorry RSN, but the players on this team are what they are... not good enough.
