Just shoot me

  • Up until the first pitch was thrown, we had a chance to win that game last night. This is absolutely pathetic, you can tell that not one guy on the team really cares at all what happens on the field.

This pile of peanut shells ended up being more interesting than that sorry excuse for a game I witnessed up in section 43. And if I didn't know any better, I'd say the peanut shells even tried harder to win than the team did. September 30th can't come quick enough for me.

  • There was a little to note about the game though, actually, not the game itself but the goings ons around it, particularly in the seventh inning.

Allow me to set the scene. As with all games there were a few scattered fans of the opposition in the seats. One particular Indians fan (a chick, with Indian headdress on) brought a kitchen pot and a spoon with her to bang on during the game (how security allowed it in I have no idea). So after six solid innings of annoying every Sox fan in the bleachers (not a good idea), she decides to rub it in a bit more and goes to the top of section 42 and proceeds to walk down each step while beating the pot with her spoon. As she got about halfway down a female Sox fan finally took exception and tore the Indian feathers off the girl's head and then hit her. 'Pot Girl' (as I will now call her) then proceeded to hurl her pot at the girl who attacked her and from there it was an all out catfight, one of the better fights I've ever witnessed at a game.

The whole thing was pretty hilarious, but you had to be there to get the full effect. I think the funniest thing was thinking of the chances you'd see a fight in Fenway that involved a kitchen pot and a spoon. After the ladies were escorted out of the building the rest of the fans had a little fun with the Indian headdress that was left behind in the melee (shredded).

Were it not for the in crowd festivities that would have been the most boring game I had ever attended in my life, and I also came the closest I ever had to leaving a game early (something that has never happened in my life).
