Gain while it's good

  • Finally, a game we didn't have to squirm in our seats while waiting for the final out. I could go for a few more like that. Better yet, the Orioles of all teams actually helped us out and beat the Y-----s in New York (their pen blew it again). Don't expect any more heroics from Baltimore the rest of that series though, we'll need to win to keep pace for the next few days.

Everyone got in on the hit parade last night, well, almost everyone. When you're going bad you just can't buy a hit. Tony Clark was one of only two Sox starters to fail to get a hit going 0-5 (along with Daubach 0-5), but did drive in two runs, so there was some positive. I'll take him going 0-5 in a laugher like this and wait for the turn around in a more crutial/closer game. He'll come around.

So how bad a fielder is Rolando Arrojo? With a score as lopsided as it was there's absolutely no excuse for those two errant throws he made (one to first and one to second). I can see in a one run game and the play has to be made to prevent a run and you rush it, but with a 10+ run lead and absolutely no pressure what-so-ever is pathetic. Where the heck is his head?

Can't finish this report off withough mentioning Hillenbrand. Ride it while he's hot, that's all I'll say. We all know he's not going to stay at a .400 pace for the whole season, but as one cools off, another will heat up, that's the way you make the playoffs.
