He's baaaaaaaaack!

  • Short update today, it is the weekend and there is usually very little traffic here on the site. Anyway, those who choose to see the glass as half empty will be quick to tell you that Pedro should have performed the way he did last night, it was the Royals after all. Hey, I don't care who he was pitching against last night, nobody would have had a chance. It was vintage Pedro, every pitch looked great, and the 'Pedro Stare' was back as well.

  • The big hit of the night obvioulsy goes to Shea Hillenbrand with the bases loaded triple in the sixth. But the at bat of the night goes to Tony Clark. Clark's (who had two hits) walk with two out in the sixth is what opened the door for Shea. He fouled off several pitches and worked back from an 0-2 count. That walk was as big as any hit last night.

Like I said earlier, I'd rather have Tony struggling in the games we score 10+ and come thru in the tough ones, rather than the opposite.

  • John Burkett goes for the first time today. At the absolute most, he'll go five innings, with Tim Wakefield being the first to be summoned from the pen. By the time you read this the decision will be made, but a roster spot will need to be opened to make room for Burkett. Hopefully we'll be saying adeiu to Willie 'I can't get an out' Banks.
