Who the heck was that?

  • It was so cool last night. Instead of watching the Sox I watched this team that got more than just solo home runs all the time. They also beat up a pretty good pitcher and took advantage of the situations they created. What was even better about watching this other team was the got 2-out hits and even though their star pitcher wasn't on top of his game, they gave him a big enough cushion with the bats so he didn’t have to be perfect and could have an 'off' day.

One more thing about this team I watched, this is the real kicker, the bullpen was perfect. I know, amazing. What was that? Huh? That... was... the Sox I was watching? Getouttahere!

  • Maybe it was a case of 'even a blind mouse finds some cheese occasionally' because that certainly wasn't the Red Sox we've become accustomed to the last couple of months. Is this a kick-start of good things to come? I want it to be, but I'm not holding my breath, or betting the house on it.

I only have two questions about last night's game. 1) How the heck did Shea hit that ball out? 2) Desi 'freaking' Relaford? Derek, Derek, Derek. I know it was an 'off' night but geeze.

    New design

  • So what's the consensus? Good? Bad? Ugly? Based on the feedback I got from the message board while I was creating the new design, this was the way to go with the new look. As for the banner at the top, I know it looks bad. Originally I had a pretty cool banner to fill that whole gray space, but when I activated the new set-up yesterday, after 4 page loads I had used up all my allotted bandwidth for the day and the site was shut down for a couple of hours (due to the large banner). Outside of me paying for more bandwidth something different is going to have to go in that space. The large banner I had there was in GIF format, anyone know if JPG condenses it any further? Unfortunately when I tried to convert it to JPG format the banner was distorted, if anyone knows how to prevent that I'm all ears. Or if anyone knows of a better file extension for the banner that will condense it without distortion, let me know.

My only ideas for the space at the moment (that won't cause bandwidth issues) is to put a version of the scoreboard up there with RedSox2000.com in the innings, or to create and American Flag (using a table for you HTML people) with the current banner placed in the middle.

    Ideas wanted.
