Offensus Patheticus

  • Friday night's game was fun, though rarely is a Pedro game hard to not enjoy. But then I made the mistake of accepting tickets to yesterday's game after Saturday's putrid performance. Our offense flat out can't hit themselves out of a wet paper bag.

I warned you all not to get excited, anyone who put their hopes back into the season after the short lived 3 game streak, got another among many sucker punches this team had thrown this season. With this series not even over, it's now meaningless. We HAD to take three of the four, and now that we've lost the pervious two, even with the final game of the series tonight, the best we can get is a split (very unlikely) and make the whole thing a wash. Does anyone really believe if the front end of the rotation can't win, the back of the rotation is going to have better luck? HAH!

  • I understand why Grady allowed Lowe to pitch into the ninth, but it was also a pretty stupid move. Thru 8 Lowe had already given up a very uncharacteristic 11 hits, and two of the three outs in the 8th inning were very loud (long fly balls). It's bad news, as we all know, when Lowe is giving up fly ball outs. The writing was on the wall, he was out of gas.

Hindsight is always 20-20, and we haven't exactly been screaming for the pen to come in most games. But at that point in the game and the less than Lowe performance we were getting, it was a no-brainer. But hey, you know, it's the same thing night after night. If the offense could score a few runs then these types of situations wouldn't come up. If we could have scored a few off of Cy Young in the first with the bases loaded... What? That wasn't Cy Young pitching for the Angels? Mark Callaway? Who the...

It's so pathetic at this point all I can do is laugh.
