Other than the seven hits, it was the Pedro of old out there last night with a season high 14 Ks over 8 innings. Get on his back everyone, he's just getting started. Hey look, don't say it too loud, but Clunk (yes Clunk) actually contributed (3rd time all season). As for the Sox trade possibilities, the ESPN rumor mill was encouraging, but then again when does anything ever written in there come true? Jim Thome has not yet been asked to waive his no trade clause but he has said of the contenders, he likes Boston. Also the Indians GM may be willing to go with a lesser package since Thome is a free agent at the end of the season. Jeff Weaver of the Tigers also stands as a possibility, the Sox sent scouts out to Detroit for his last start, but the Tigers have already said they'd be looking for a deal similar to the Colon Trade the Expos made. No way the Sox can compete with those demands. |
