If this doesn't officially put Castillo out of the rotation then nothing will. So, Frankie, how does it feel to get absolutely destroyed by the WORST hitting team in the game? Though I think Little was forced to start him one more time due to the double dip on Tuesday. Back to the pen with the rest of the ragamuffins Frankie boy. My preference is that Wakefield take his spot, which yes, will REALLY make the pen suck without him. But at the same time, what good is the pen (to blow games) if we're already down 5-0 after an inning with Castillo out there? I guess it's sort of a double edged sword, it's just a matter of if we want the game over with in the 1st or watch another slip away late in the game. At least with Wakes in the rotation, a complete game isn't out of the question. My guess though, with the way Fossum pitched last night, he may get a crack at Castillo's spot. The nine strikeouts were nice, but I didn't think he pitched all that well. Don't forget, this was the worst offense in the world (the DRays), so not letting them score isn't too hard to do (unless you're Castillo). But take those seven hits Fossum gave up over his seven innings and give them to another team, and I guarantee they turn them into 4-5 runs off him easily. What to do? What to do? The bats come around, the pitching sucks. The starting pitching is great, we don't hit. The pen is... oh wait, the pen has sucked all season. Pedro tonight, hopefully he can go at least 7, and the bats can score 20-25 runs again, otherwise... ah forget it. |
