Send in the scrubs

  • So who else was having flashbacks to Tampa Bay a couple seasons ago, when Daubach came out holding his shoulder, during the fight yesterday? All I remember is holding my breath and looking to make sure Nomar, Pedro, and Manny were nowhere near the punches being thrown and piles being made. I also remember saying send in Offerman, Clark, and pretty much the entire bullpen because one of them getting hurt would probably help us out a bit.

We got the 2 of 3 minimum in that series, and hopefully that brawl lit a fire under their asses, because the next 5 weeks of baseball is going to decide the season for us. First up, one of the hottest teams in the game, Anaheim. I'm hoping they'll be a bit spent from a grueling series with the Mariners they just completed and we'll be able to capitalize.

The Empire basically will be facing the same schedule along side us for the next month or so as well. Good time to get hot, and also an easy time to get buried.

Fossum will go tonight taking over Castillo's spot in the rotation. Starting a huge road trip with the back end of the rotation isn't exactly what we need right now, but it's all we have at the moment. Hopefully it will be enough. Not sure how I can really ask/expect two of three in this series, but if we want the division, it's something we're going to have to start to do against the good teams.
