The doctor's visit

  • July 1:
    Red Sox: Doc, I don't know what's wrong, we've lost 8 of 10, is there anything you can do to help?

    Doctor: Hmmmm... I think I have just the remedy. Take this blue pill for the next 4 days (making sure to take two of them on the 2nd), that should do the trick.

    July 5th:
    Red Sox: Doc, it worked! I'm cured! But I'm all out of those blue pills, you have anything else?

    Doctor: Hmmmm... Actually I do have something else, no more blue pills, but I do have three brown ones. These should be even better than the blue pills.

    July 8th:
    Red Sox: Doc, the brown pills you gave me didn't really work, it was as if I had never come to see you at all, and just kept getting worse.

    Doctor: Hmmmm... Did you take them like I told you too, one per day?

    Red Sox: Of course... but, um...

    Doctor: What do you mean, "but, um...?"

    Red Sox: Well... The 2nd one went down OK, but the pill I took on the 5th and 7th I sort of choked up.

    Doctor: Yeah, no kidding!
