Normally I would say we have a bit of reprieve coming up with four games (starting tonight) in Detroit. But Commerica Park hasn't been the nicest place in the world for the Sox to play, so dare I say, I'll take a split of this series? But on the heels of that split I want 2 of 3 at home against the D-Backs. That fact that our starters have been going much deeper into games is the reason we've been able to make-up for an inept pen. But as the summer goes along we're going to need the arms out there to come thru because we can't expect Castillo to pitch 8 innings each time out. And what was up with Fossum throwing the ball home yesterday? Yeah it was funny since the lead was so big, but what if it was a close game? What if we had a one run lead and that play should have ended the game? Well, we won, so I guess I won't go into the dooms day possibilities, but the short of it is that we need someone else to step up and pitch some quality innings out in the pen. As I said earlier, four against Detroit at Commerica starting tonight. Pedro takes the hill, I'll be watching intently hoping not to see any lingering effects from his last start in Toronto. Also look for Trot to have a big series, Detroit seems to be 'that team' that he hits well agaisnt. |
