  • Where oh, where, have our Red Sox gone?

I didn't see any of yesterday's game so I can't comment on it, though judging from what I can take from the box score and Arrojo's line, the Arrojoness came back full throttle.

Three in a row, 10 of the last 14, and no more 1st place, not good.

The one ray of sunshine we can look to is that from all indications Manny will be back in the line-up on Tuesday. Even if he pulls an O-fer for the first few games, just his presence dramatically changes the line-up. Guys like Duabach go from a horribly putrid #4 hitter, to a not so bad #7 or 8 guy. Tony Clark goes from a #6-7 hitter, to hitting the bench and never EVER coming back. Trot Nixon will ride pine vs lefties, which is a VERY good thing, and guys like Tek can worry more about the staff than hitting 6th and having to come thru all the time in order to score some runs.

Yes, getting back Manny will help dramatically. Other than one three game set this weekend agaisnt the Braves, interleague play is over, so now we can get back to destroying the American League. The first victim are the unfortuante Cleveland Indians, who WILL feel the wrath of the Red Sox we knew back in April and May. Three games against the Tribe, and damn it, we're going to take all three of them.
