This is the second time Fossum has blown a shutout for the team. We should have 11, but instead have 9 due to Casey's insistence on giving up 9th inning homers to allow the opposing team back into the game. My guess is that Little keeps putting him in because he's one of the guys that needs to get straightened out if the Sox are going to keep this up through the summer. Could this finally be a Red Sox team allowing a young pitcher to get his knocks while he learns to pitch? Since yesterday was a 2:00 start I missed pretty much the whole thing except for the Fossum homer, so I don't have much to blabber on about today. Tonight interleague play starts back up, something the Sox haven't necessarily done well at in years past. Arizona comes to Fenway for a three game set, lucky for us we'll only face one of their big two, Schilling vs Pedro on Saturday. Frank Castillo vs Miguel Batista for tonight. If Castillo can give us a matching performance of his last time out on the mound and we provide a little offense, we can make it four in a row going into the Schilling/Pedro match-up. Important game tonight, because tomorrow is going to be a B#$%*! |
