Nomar Looking Good
3/13/02

  • As the Globe article above states, Nomar still has yet to play in back to back games this spring. But if the current results are any indication of how his season is going to go, this is going to be a fun year. Nomar cranked out two more hits yesterday, one being a triple, in the teams 5-2 loss to the Cardinals yesterday.

According to the article, Nomar could see his first back-to-back action of the spring this weekend. I guess we still have to hold our breath a little longer and see what happens.

  • Nice to see some club house problems in places other than Boston, and who better to have them than the Evil Emipre. You've no doubt heard about the release of Ruben Rivera from the Y-----s. The alleged reason is that Rivera stole some items from Derek Jeter's locker and then sold them to a memorabilia dealer.

But what's even better about the story, as Rivera is really nothing special, is that he's the cousin of closer Mariano Rivera, and I guess Mariano was moslty responsible for getting the front office to take another shot with Ruben. I'm sure the whole matter is done with, but hey, it takes a one small flake of snow before you can create a snowball.
