Got it

  • 8-4, that's what I wanted at the start of the last 12 games, and that's exactly what we got. If going 5-1 against Oakland and 3-3 with Seattle doesn't convince the rest of the league that the Sox are for real, then nothing will.

The offense has been quite obviously sluggish, fortunately the pitching has not, save Arrojo. Kind of weird to say that in a game the Sox committed 2 errors, it was the defense that won that game, specifically Tony Clark. I'm becoming infinitely frustrated with his plate performance, and it really needs to pick up if we're going to get through the next 7 games, but his D was invaluable yesterday.

  • From here, the schedule doesn't let up at all, and probably gets a bit tougher. The next 7 are at home against the White Sox for 3, and then the Evil Empire returns for another 4 game set. 4-3 for these seven and I think we can be happy, I want 5-2, but this really is going to be another tough stretch. We need 2 of 3 from Chicago then we can split with NY, before the schedule lightens up for a couple of days in Toronto (though they have been playing better of late).

  • One more thing to mention, Saturday I met up with SRYD for the gem that Pedro threw. We both got to the stadium for noon and were in our seats for 12:30. Needless to say we were in the ballpark for a long, LONG time on Saturday. It was cold, rainy, and basically about as miserable as you can get for a day in May, but in true die-hard fashion, we hung in there for the whole 7-8 hours it took to get things going and finished.

Like SRYD said, we're all nuts (sox fans), as bad a day as it was, there was still a crowd of 32,000+ at the stadium that day. That attendance beats most teams on the nicest day of the year.
