The real Darren Oliver?

  • Normally I would have come on here today and said it looks like the real Darren Oliver has finally emerged. You know, the guy who REALLY sucks. But if Rogah can make excuses that a bad start was due to going on three days rest, then so can Oliver. So I'm giving him one more start before I start to lose faith. Oliver went early due to Frank Castillo serving the final day of his 5 game suspension.

I not really sure why Little didn't go with Wakefield and have Oliver go on his normal rest of 4-5 days. Castillo will go tonight lining up our big three to face the Y-----s.

Where is Rickey Henderson? Is something going on that I'm not aware of? With Offerman slumping and Baerga in the line-up at the same time, why hasn't Rickey played in four games? Offy had plenty of chances to get us into that game last night, and failed.

How bad is Rolando Arrojo right now? Dare I say bring Willie Banks back? He couldn't do any worse. The bull-pen is a glaring blck-hole of mediocrity, it needs to be fixed.

I didn't get to watch the game (cable was out, damn Adelphia) so I can't pick on specifics, but I really hate it when we allow a pitcher who wants to give the game away, isn't allowed to do so. Shame on Nomar for not knowing the situation when he struck out (1st base ump called it a swing) and didn't run to first because he didn't see the call. Maybe Nomar has an argument on whether he swung or not, but on any check swing, especially with two strikes, you have to know what's going on.

Of course the Blue Jays along with every other team in the AL East, continue to fail to help us out a little, as the Evil Empire closed to within a game of us. We need a big start from Castillo tonight; we have to take 2 of 3 from this series.
