It's always nice to get game one in a series as important as this one, but there is one concernt that this game left me with. The offense continues to struggle, and against a pitcher that should have been very hittable. The bats are going to have to pick it up a notch if we're to go any further into this series. Rogah will be on the hill for the Empire tonight, so how about a nice thrashing of the former good guy. Excluding the cheeze-ball double that just dropped fair, that may have been the most dominating inning that Oogie has pitched all season. Good time for him to get it going. Wakefield also pitched a great eigth inning and Garces (in that last game of the Chicago series) looked good as well the other night. Is the pen finally starting to pull thier weight? I hope so. Burkett gets the ball tonight, and as I said earlier, the bats need to get it going. The Y-----s offense can't be expected to sputter for more than a couple of days, so lets not wait for them to come around. |
