Mission accomplished

  • It took a bit of late inning heroics, but we got the sweep we wanted/needed. No time to dwell on a three game winning streak, nor is there time to think about what went right and wrong against the Blue Jays. Friday we head to enemy territory, into the heart of the Evil Empire.

Some of you may gasp at what I'm about to say, but lets be realistic, NY isn't the easiest to place to play. With the White Sox choking up a sure win in the ninth last night, our lead over the Y---s still sits at one going into the three game set. I think we can all be happy on Monday morning when the team arrives in Detroit if we're tied for the division lead. Which would mean we'd only win 1 of 3 in NY.

With the front end of the rotation we were only able to split a four game set last week, so with the back end going this time, one game is all I'm ordering up. Anything more is icing on the cake and further proves we can play with anyone.

If I'm counting my days right, Lowe will start game one on Friday, as long as Lowe does his job and the offense scores a few runs for him, we should be able to snatch that game we want/need right away.

No game tonight, boooooooo, another tough stretch begins on Friday.
