Time to step it up a notch

  • I'm back, refreshed, and ready for the Sox to put it into full gear. While I was gone they went 4-1 including the no-no by Lowe I missed on the day I left. UGH! I walked in the door on Saturday night to Shea's slam and they've gone 3-0 since my return.

We did one better than I demanded during these past 13 games vs the D-Rays and Os, going 10-3, and the west coast teams obliged us allowing the Evil Empire to go .500 during that time and for us to open a decent five game lead.

Now it's our turn to face the left coast and for the Y-----s to face the AL Least. Our next 12 are against Seattle and Oakland and I'm hoping for an 8-4 mark, but will settle for 6-6. Beat down the teams you should beat and split with the good teams, and you'll find yourself playing come October.

  • As for yesterday's game, for the amount of hits we ended up with (14) we didn't nearly score enough runs, but you can do things like that against the likes of the D-Rays and still win. That won't be the case the next two weeks against Seattle and Oakland, we have to score when the opportunities present themselves.

Other than the Y-----s we haven't faced any particularly good teams, for the next two weeks solid we'll be facing some of the best as we will also play Chicago and New York following the Mariners and Athletics. Regardless of our record at the end of May it'll be way too early to be excited or worried, but the next two weeks will tell us alot about this team, and whether the "best team in baseball" label is warranted.

We have the right man on the mound tonight to start things off (Pedro), lets put some crooked numbers on the board guys.
