A Save Woo Hoo!

  • It was bound to happen, even a squirell finds a nut once in a while. OK, OK, I'm being a bit ridiculous now with the negativity, there are better things to talk about.

I think it's safe to say that Shea has reached God status in Boston. He is the Red Sox right now. It's easy to jump on the bandwagon when things are going well for him, but I love the argument that's being made in Shea's favor as far as not trading him goes. He just seems to be a guy who can play with pressure and can endure the wrath of Boston. Guys like that don't exactly grow on trees.

I realize that we'll have to give up something in order to aquire some arms in the pen, but Theo better think long and hard before he trades one of the best fits for Boston on the team.

  • This line-up is so damn deep it's not even funny. As bad as the pen has been, the bench has been that good. I don't know if you even call it a bench seeing as everyone but Jackson plays on a regular basis. Millar sits out for a game (which I did not agree with) but we don't lose a stride with Ortiz taking his place. It's tough to stay hot when not playing all the time, but hopfully the last couple of games have been a turning point for Ortiz and Gimabi.

And the best part of the night, Brandon Lyon. It's wasn't exactly a blow the competition away ninth inning, but it was 3 up and 3 down, fine by me.
