I'm not blaming the pen for the loss, not at all, Burkett got himself good and bitch slapped. But damn, it's 9-6, we're charging back, and then the brick wall that is the pen gets in the way. They're not going to pitch well all the time, even the best pens have a bad day, it's jsut frustrating. The first real test begins tonight in Texas. With the Royals as hot as they are, and the fact that the Twins seem to always give us trouble, the next 30 games could very well tell the story of the season. With the exception of Cleveland and the Scuffling Twins, we get nothing but 500+ teams for the next month and a half, and then the dreaded interleague schedule starts. Yep, we may know all we need to know about this team come June 1. |
