Anytime you only allow one run to a line-up like that... Wow! I was a bit surprised to see Fossum only go 5 innings and he had only thrown 84 pitches. No mention of injury in the recap this morning on ESPN.com, so I guess we'll just chalk it up to Grady. No complaints for the pen, I don't think you can ask for much more than the four shutout innings they gave us last night. It was great to finally see Robert Person take the mound as well. I won't say he looked good or that his follow thru was great, unless your a scout nobody can tell those things, but I can say that his velocity was consistantly in the low 90s. I beleive he topped out at 93, and hopefully with some more work he'll get up to about 95 as I think you need at least that to be an effective closer. Time to get greedy. The Sox have already won this series and taking the 3rd game would big a nice big bonus, especially the way the Angels (who come into town next) are treating the Y-----s, an extra 'W' could be huge. |
