Come back kids

  • I think I should complain about Ortiz and Giambi more often like I did before the game yesterday on the messageboard. In turn, both made me eat my words and played a vital role in the comeback yesterday. Works for me, keep it up you bums!

Some guys in the line-up may be struggling, but there really is no reason to complain about the offense. Actually if you think about it, it's pretty absurd to complain about it as we have the most potent offense in the game right now. As a team the Sox eclipsed 200 runs for the season, at that pace we'll be well over 1000 runs for the year. No guys, there is nothing wrong with the offense, and the scary part about it is that Nomar hasn't got it going yet, nor has Damon, and even though Manny has that high average, he hasn't even started a home run rampage yet.

On the offensive side, things are definetly looking good. As some of the other guys start to cool off, hopefully thats when those three will turn it on.

  • Up until the sixth Burkett was awesome yesterday, but why can't he have just a bad inning instead of a horrible inning. It seems that when the tires start to fall off, the engine seizes completely with him. Just seems to be no middle ground, lights-out or run for cover.

Embree and Lyon looked great yesterday, and tomorrow they'll go back to being punching bags. This pen is going steer me straight to the Tobin Bridge and then cast me off before the season is over. Since they won, today it's comical, next time they blow one, I'll be Kamicazical (poor attmept at a joke).

  • If you haven't heard Theo made an attempt yestrday to bolster the pen with the aquisition of Bruce Chen (off waivers from Houston). As Ekanenh said yesterday on the messageboard, he was one of those can't miss prospects that never really got going and it's a good no-risk chance.

The worst that can happen is that Chen sucks and is no different from the rest of the pen. Best case, he brings some stability to the middle innings.
