Media Release updated 23/01/03
Roslyn Lindsay would like to notify all her local Rodeo fans that the ninth annual "Reg Lindsay Wine Country Rodeo and Music Re-union" will go ahead as planned on 22nd March 2003 at Cessnock Showground.
Roslyn is recovering at home after falling from her horse at the National Camp-draft finals at Stroud early in January, suffering from leg, chest and internal injuries. Her injuries required her to be air lifted by Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital, where she underwent surgery which placed her in intensive care in a serious but stable condition.
Her mother, brother and sister had flown up from Victoria not only to help with her recovery but to also help with the large amount of organisation that is needed to run this event.
This years event features a full program of Rodeo events for all ages, from the open bull ride to the under 13 years Poddy ride. Novice events and 2 ladies events are also catered for, as well as the Motorbike V's Horse Match Race which will be on again this year.
All the action of the Rodeo starts at 3pm and will continue until 8.30pm followed then by music, stalls and entertainment which will continue until 11pm.
Full bar and catering will be available throughout the event.
For all enquires contact Roslyn Lindsay on 02 49911585 or Wine Country Tourism on 02 49904477.

"I attended Fan Fair in Nashville, Tennessee (USA) in the late 70's and early 80's.

There was always an International Show with performers from many countries.

I especially remember a very talented singer from Australia with an extraordinary voice who thrilled the audience with a great performance.

That man's name was Reg Lindsey. Later I stopped by his Fan Fair Booth and asked him to autograph a picture and he very graciously did so.

Here is that picture that Reg signed for me and he wrote, "To Dot - Yours - Reg Lindsey."

May good health return to him soon so that he can once again be able to entertain folks like me! Thanks.
