1988. Reg married Rodeo Champion Roslyn Winfield, of
Geelong, on Brampton Island, amongst family and many friends.
1989. They began touring extensively throughout Australia, promoting Reg's latest recording, Reason's To Rise. This CD was all new recordings, most of which were written by Reg and Roslyn. Reg appeared on many Television shows and at Rodeos and Clubs with the full |

package "Reg Lindsay show". Reg was back in Australia and really enjoying his return to stage
and studio.
1992. Reg and Roslyn took a trip back to Nashville where Reg performed at many Country Music Clubs with lots of his buddies he had not seen for a few years. So it was a very special time. |

Reg also went to the Grand Ole Opry, did interviews,
with good old mates like Johnny K Koval. Reg and Roslyn were then invited as special guests at
the 65th Birthday Celebrations for The Grand Ole Opry and were fortunate to meet up with Roy
Acuff, Minnie Pearl, Loretta Lyne, and so many of the stars from the Opry stage. Reg said "it
was a fantastic experience".
Reg performed at Long Hollow Jamboree with Kurt Gibson and his band and was very well received. The time spent in Nashville allowed Reg to catch up with song writers at Happ Towns Cafe and to do some jamming with all the Nashville guys. |

Reg and Roslyn then headed north to Calgary to discuss with the management about a Reg Lindsay
appearance during the Calvary Stampede in the coming year. The executives were very impressed
with this tall Aussie performer and things were looking bright for "The Reg Lindsay Show" to
star at the Stampede.
It was time to head back to Australia as Reg had a big Melbourne Cup function to perform at the day after they returned to the country. He made it and performed to a sell out venue in the Hunter Valley. He was in overdrive and loving it.... |

Many more shows and another recording titled "No Slowing Down" was put together in 1994. Greg
Champion wrote the title track for Reg and it was credited as his best album yet.
Roslyn put the tracks together, taking some from his Nashville recordings over the years, that were never really heard over here, along with four new tracks, and it all went off very well. Roslyn had tours booked up to the end of 1995 just for the "No Slowing Down" part of the show when tradgedy struck. Reg was performing at the Tamworth National Finals Rodeo on Joe, |
 Roslyn's former Barrel Race horse. They headed back to the motel to spend some time with Roslyn's parents, Howie and Queenie. Next morning, January 25th 1995, Reg suffered a brain haemorrage. |
He was rushed to Tamworth Base Hospital where he was diagnosed and listed as very critical. He and Roslyn were air lifted by Air Ambulance to John Hunter Hospital, at Newcastle.
Many long weeks passed before Doctors could attempt to operate. They finally did at the end of February. After a long rehabilitation period Reg was back home at his Kearsley hideaway in July of that year.
More bad luck struck in 1995 at Wangaratta Rodeo where
Roslyn was competing and Reg was catching up with his Rodeo mates. Reg suffered a heart attack and once again was air lifted back to the Hunter Valley for triple bypass surgery. |

The Reg Lindsay Rodeo was also staged for the first time in March of' '95. Reg was still in hospital but Roslyn went ahead with the big show which drew a crowd well in excess of 4,000. It was a fantastic production and is still staged every March at the Cessnock Showgrounds. After all this illness Reg is still with us and is now retired and living a very quiet life with Roslyn at their little hideaway in the Hunter. Reg's health has failed in the past twelve months. The Rodeo still runs and he and Roslyn take-One Day At A Time....................................... UPDATE 13/03/2002 |
